Legio IX enters the new Rift dungeon Exodus of the Storm Queen for the first time. This dungeon is part of the World Event that introduces you to the new expansion content and is supposed to give you the last Storm Legion costume piece. But unfortunately it seems that the quest “The Storm Queen Rises” is bugged and doesn’t complete as it should.
Legio IX had a guild quest for the dungeon Abyssal Precipice (level 48-50) and to make it quicker I thought I’d simply skip using any tank or healer, but to go in with just five DPS. It turned out to go very well! Note that this is the normal dungeon, not expert, and the five sisters are now level 53.
All members of Legio IX just reached PvP rank 50! This video shows some of the action the five sisters engaged in during that Conquest.
Legio IX is temporarily on the Laethys shard after transferring there for the 24-hour Extra Life 2012 marathon, but will be back on Faeblight in a few weeks.
This is the hardware setup I used for the first Extra Life event in Rift. Five accounts on two computers, with the main keyboard and mouse to the left controlling everything. I have three accounts running on the computer to the left, with one main character and the other two characters shown with picture-in-picture at the bottom of the screen. Similarly, I have two accounts running on the computer to the right. I can freely move the mouse cursor between the two computer screens with the single main mouse, if I need to control one or the other specifically. I can mouse click on any of the picture-in-picture characters to swap to a new “main” character on each computer.
In simple terms, when I press F1-F12 it is routed to all accounts on both computers. Mouse clicks are also routed, if I hold down Alt (useful for questing). Some keyboard buttons are a little special. ‘F’, for instance, makes my main character auto-run forward and have all other character auto-follow her. Ctrl+Shift+F just put them on auto-follow but does not start running. Another button (~) makes all characters assist the main character, and yet another button makes them issue the in-game /interact macro.
Fishing is a new feature in the Rift, and it turns out that fishing is fun to multibox! I have it set up so that F6 makes all my characters cast out and F1 to F5 makes the corresponding character pull, counted from left to right.
The five sisters of Box of Chocolate were created during Trion’s Extra Life charity event but are still in active duty. They have formed ranks and are henceforth to be called Legio IX – the 9th Legion.
This video shows the multiboxing legionnaires wade through the masses, delivering death and destruction to the enemies of Telara.
The five sisters AoE farm for wool, so that Dansa can create larger bags for them all.
The nerve of some people! You hit them in the head with a hammer and they refuse to lie down and die! And even if they do eventually die, they come back and attack you again! This encounter took a while, until the sisters realized that the bosses were healing themselves over time and that they had to purge that. The fight took so long that the first boss despawned and the sisters couldn’t loot the quest item.
The five sisters of Box of Chocolate have ended up into a dungeon for the first time. They were on their way home to Sanctum with a cart full of loot late one night when the cart broke down and the horse refused to pull it any further. Dannya started complaining, because it was a chilly night and they didn’t have any more wine left to comfort her with. They secured the wagon and left the path to find help. Somehow they bumped into to this large cave entrance. Perhaps it could yield shelter for the night at least. But it turned out that they will have to fight for their right to put down their bedrolls there tonight.
First boss encounter, Caor Ashstone. No problems, everyone stayed at full health at all times, and Domona got a new pair of water-resistant pants for when she go picking herbs or mushrooms in the forest.
